6.5 Creedmoore invasion
Hi All
Was reading about this somewhere else.
I had a look at current offerings by the major American gun manufacturers and the 260 seems to have been replaced by the creedmoore...
Dosen't make much sense, but maybe the 260 replacing the 6.5x55 was a similar event?
Won't be long and the 6.5x47 will be king if the downward trend in 6.5 continues.
To me the 260 or an improved version would be something worthwhile.

Marketing hype seems to be the go these days, especially when using the Less is More brainwashing.

Just in case we have any fans out there ......
Re: 6.5 Creedmoore invasion
You know what this opinion is worth ...
The 6.5Creedmoor is a success because Rem-shitter couldn't understand a market, or market successfully a brothel to a visiting Navy ship.
The 260Rem was seen as a hunting cartridge ... ammunition offerings where thus hunting offerings. It took too long to bring out Lapua brass and all the bells and whistles that target orientated shooters like.
The 6.5x47Lapua is Euro which Americans generally struggle with in terms of acceptance, and factory ammunition is just so widely distributed.
And how many have heard of the 6.5x47SM ... and the Swiss dont give a rats about marketting the best brass in the world to outsiders!
The 6.5Creedmoor was designed and marketted for a specific game ... and its been done with enough support that it's finally spilling into hunting rifles.
There was nothing special about the M96 6.5x55 rifles brought into Australia, but when matched to the 'military ammunition' which was in fact target ammunition for civilian competition ... it blew people away how good they were.
Cheers...

You can buy factory 6.5cm ammo with hunting and target projies. What other calibre has those offerings? I know the 307 and 300wm does but that are not in the same Park for recoil.
