I have given Black Betty a bit of an over haul, respray, wheels fitted and re-sealed around the glass front of the fire box. This stuff is what I used originally and the seal around the glass had set to a tough rubbery type seal, I just filled in a few hollows and trimmed sticky out bits off with a stanley knife blade.

Makes sense. Intumescent vents do have to survive intense heat while maintaining the seal.

In my defence, I did say I would dig it out that arvo, didn't mention anything about telling him on that particular arvo.
