Forward fold campers - whatta ya know?
The missus and I braved the hordes at the Melbourne 4x4 fishing and Outdoor expo today...….. the "natives there need their own thread but I'm getting off topic in my opening post.
We are looking to do a Cape York trip next year, lived in the Territory camping - but can always learn more.
We are looking seriously at forward fold campers - had had a soft floor for a few years now so are comfortable with the towing and maintenance aspects.
We have narrowed our choices to the Scamper camper "Dingo" and the Black Series Parton (V4):
Skamper:
https://www.skamper.com.au/camper-trail ... ler-dingo/
Black Series:
http://blackseriescampertrailers.com.au ... atron.html
What have you seen/heard and what advice would you give based on your knowledge?
Cheers.

Where was that show, was it at the old Exhibition building or out at Sandown?mick_762 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:43 pm The missus and I braved the hordes at the Melbourne 4x4 fishing and Outdoor expo today...….. the "natives there need their own thread but I'm getting off topic in my opening post.

If at Sandown you should have let me know and you could have popped by for lunch and a chin wag.
Glamping equipment, outside of this little black ducks budget...

Well gic had a lot of reviews if you wanted to look at them.
There must also be a reason why they changed names.
Used to claim to be aussie made but they were only assembled (flat packs in containers) in aus and manufactured overseas. Gic stood for global import company.
Sorry you did not find the information useful, some even more useless information would be scamper campers are locared about 2.5km from my house

That Skamper one looks very flash. Nice kitchen. And the annexed tent too.

It was at the Melb Show ground - "Glamping" is saving our arse for as we already have a soft floor camper and will have to go into debt again.
Sorry for not knowing that they had changed their name - yes we have heard of GIC campers - I also asked for any personal knowledge of experience. Its not that I didnt find the info useful, more the delivery of said info.DSD wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 11:48 pm Well gic had a lot of reviews if you wanted to look at them.

Useless info is only uselessfor a short time, then it generally becomes usefull to somebody.
The Black Series has a better "deeper" sink and seemed to have more room inside the camper - both come with the full annex and floor.

Yes,
We have an "entry level" soft floor that we will sell for possibly $2500.
Its been great, done what we wanted which was to decide between caravan and camper.
