Surfing around the U tube world tonight and found this,

Neat build I reckon, think Bruce made something similar out of old battery drill, but I think his had a few more pieces to it. Just thought it might interest some of you fellas. :D

Nicely thought out and executed, although I reckon I would want the switch in a more accessible location.

Yeah, got my eye on a couple of dead battery cordless drills that a mate has, just got to remember to pick them up when I see him, will try and copy this design. :D

i use the lee trimmers and put the shell holder in the drill.
i reckon i could do 3 cases to one with that thing.

The Lee Quick Trim that mounts in the press is pretty quick as well. I use the deluxe version as it trims and chamfers in one operation.

Tried them, IMO absolute piece of shit, would rather have to trim cases with my teeth than use them again.

It's a lot cheaper than the more commonly found trimmers. However, for each calibre you need a specific Quick Trim die ($20~). That doesn't bother me as once it's set up with one of the breech lock adaptors it is easy to swap calibres AND still retain the same trim length as last time (excluding the trimmer fine adjustment). I've set each die up with the trimmer set on the same fine adjustment, which pretty much eliminates any tweaking between die changes.

I've also considered electrifying it but as it generally takes less than 8 turns/cranks to trim a case that would be overkill.

I’ve not used other trimmers other than the basic hand style stuff but tell me what you think of the speed accuracy of others.

Here’s just one video on the Quick Trim (Deluxe cutter trims/chamfers, the basic only trims).

PS. I still want to see a RAF trimmer though!

PPS a motorised Quick Trim would also be cool Image

Short answer, Lee, :upyours:   But I think you may have already knew what my answer would be and are just having a little isolation fishing trip.

Long answer, nope, I have to go and take my pick of a couple of old 12volt drills, then I will progress from there, already have the power supply fixed, I still have the old transformer from when we had a UHF radio in the house, pre mobile phone days out here, you may have heard of this old techo stuff. Still working out if I need to get a voltage regulator to adjust the speed.
