If youput the chimney at the other end and added some iron wheels you could call it a “Camel Train”.

Will fit them today, one each end and one in the middle Image. Might give it a run on weekend. Changed the chimney to a round one, got a 4ft length on 4 inch alloy irrigation pipe, need to make a mounting collar and a cap for it. Photo later

The big day has finally arrived, Black Betty in her residing place, all fired up and ready to cook some chook wings.

Open the lid and

Will keep them going for a couple of hours and see how they are going

I used this rub, not for any particular reason other than it said its easy to do.

And made up some BBQ sauce using this recipe, again, simple and had most of the stuff in the cupboard

Hopefully Tash and I will be dining in style tonight. :D Jess is going to come down and pinch a few for her and the grandson to gnaw on for dinner. :D

Forgot to mention, I am using red gum wood and saw dust for the flavour and its easily procured out this way. gunna be fun experimenting with all the different wood types I can get around here, lots of fruit woods, plus natives like red gum, red box and different mallee varieties :D Anyone know if you can use citrus wood for smoking, or will it be too oily for using ??

Hour and half since going in and they are progressing nicely, but I do have to figure out some way of regulating my heat better.

Threw a few more sticks on a while ago and two hands full of sawdust to get some more smoke going

Yeah mate, havent had anything done with them for around 10 years but still apples on most of them most years. Fair bit of black spot but should be OK for cider if you want to give it a go.
