Knife from scraps

Have been working on a knife for doing those small skinning jobs and cuts. Have been wanting a drop point style and after seeing a few pics thought I would try making one.
Camel gave me some blanks cut out of an old pit saw blade. Ned Kelly gave me some walnut at the Missedathon to practice my checkering on which was just right size to cut the scales from. I made the brass and copper pins, which added a bit of bling. Leather sheath from the saddlery offcut.
Since it was already very hard saw steel I ground it carefully with power tools with frequent water dipping and on my big wet grindstone. Then polished and buffed with a dremel. Slow process.

Pics will show some of the process.

Top job ther Bruce. I have never seen copper wire used like that - quite effective.

Your quite handy aren't you?

Wife didn't think the sheath was good enough, either did I. So made another one today.
A bit of better quality leather, folded the belt loop forward this time and kept it natural colour with a bit of Dubbin.

Thanks for all the kind comments.
It has turned out better than expected  :D .
I put a few of our lambs in the freezer a couple of months ago and that made me realise I didn't have a good knife for doing the initial cuts when skinning. So that got me motivated.

Missed , a bit like the shape of your new custom. Which made me think I was on the right style and design.
