So the barrel has turned up the eh. Good stuff and nice work on the gadgets. What do the barrel pins do ? How do you use them ?

Rito thanks Glen, I have heard of them, and know that they are something to do with aligning the bore in the lathe, but don't know much of that techo stuff. Am interested in learning.

Tightarse buildup Mk II
Righto. Took the gun out for its first shoot. Unfortunately the Burris fullfield that Space Cadet lent me didn't fit as my rings are too low. So I fitted up the highest quality bit of kit I could find. None if that Nikon Sterling stuff for me, only the top shelf. Otherwise known as "topscope". Some of Japan's finest optics from 198?
gracing the A Bolt.
It has a magnificent TV screen like view and a 2 part reticle.
Anyway, enough talk of hi end optics.

And third
Unfortunately my top shelf optics had no parallax adjustment and it was a bit of a raffle in regards to getting the crosshairs to the same point every time, but a different scope should see things improve.
It was a great morning out and I am looking forward to the next step in load development.

Looking promising there Kickin. I like the look of those A-bolts but have never seen one in the flesh.

Thanks Marcus and Mark.
The trigger needs some love. A little bit of creep and it's way to heavy. The cases don't seem to be moving much at all Mark. If anything the are a bit easier to extract than chamber. Will be measuring the necks tonight.

Weaver had the 'Wide' models which did the same.Camel wrote:Its came up nice mate. Had one of those TV scopes years ago, think it may have been a Redfield, cant remember back that far now. Cases fire forming alright ?? Hows the trigger ?

Worst thing about the scope is the vertical part of the reticle is broken just above the horizontal element.

Ahh, I though you were referring to the fading horizontal element.kickinback wrote:Worst thing about the scope is the vertical part of the reticle is broken just above the horizontal element.

Nice looking bit of kit, kick
Also, go to say, welcome to the VT club, great little round IMO.
Just wondering how does the shorter case feed in that action.

Looking good Glen.
There isn't much info on rebarrelled Abolts so your thoughts about them would be interesting.

The VT is a very interesting round and I quite like the amount of powder it doesn't use.Teepee wrote:Nice looking bit of kit, kick

As for feeding, it feeds fine from the RHS of the mag but not from the left. I will have to work something out in regards to this. I do like the fact you can top load or release the floor plate and either load the mag there or remove it from the floor plate.
