hi people
I'm after some info on range finder's..
More will they work at night under moon light or spotlight..

Would it need to be top of the line or the old Aldi one do the job

The Aldi one works, if you can see the target animal - you can range it.
The difficulty is trying to read an unlit LCD screen / trying to see your target with a backlit screen.

I have had some cheapy ones (leupold) a Zeiss and a Leica and this had by far the best optics for night work ......

Just need to dial the brightness level down to its lowest setting. Then remember to turn it back up for daytime use. Lol

I picked up a second hand Leica 1600 that works well, happy for you to borrow it and try under the spotlight if you want.
