I emailed them and at these prices t5hey won't get my money and as to why they need to drill and tap it is beyond me

Thanks for the email. We most certainly can. You will need to get the
action drilled and tapped, or you can send it to us and we can do it
as part of the job.
We can fabricate the rail with 20MOA for $185 and drill and tapping
for the LA101 would be $75 inc GST (we provide all the hardware
needed, eg screws) plus post/transfer (about $40 to get it back to
your dealer). We can throw in Cerakote or anodized finish to the
picatinny rail as past of the price too.

Regards,
Myf

Perhaps the drill and tap is to attach the rail?
I haven't looked into or seen any of their work. . . Just "spitballing" to use a token Americanism. :spew:

Have a egw rail on the savage not dove tailed but do like the rail and for the price was easy install. Think I ordered through Hinterland, not in stock...had it about 2 weeks later on my door step. Good service!
