Any one purchased equipment through Opti zone

Post by Flip »

HI all,

Just a quick one to see if any one has imported scopes through Optic Zone in the states?

I have been coparing prices and even with 40 to 50 buck freight Im still nearly $ 100 bucks in front buying a scope through them. Localy been quoted prices betwee $650 and $590 can get the scope for them $429 USD + freight.

I know there is the whole warranty issue and possible import expoert restricions to deal with may be im not to sure.

Just thought I would ask first to see what other people have experianced.

Cheers

Keep the total under $1K and no import duty. Be aware no warranty on some brands. Be aware also that gen 3 night vision etc cannot be exported.

I've used them a few times and can't fault the price or delivery time.

I've bought about 5 scopes through them as well as mounts, rings and a range finder. can't fault them for service and last time i ordered i had a problem with their server and didn't get insurance added. a quick email and they put it on for free.

It's the only place I'll get scopes through now. mounts and rings are heaps cheaper too. have thought of ordering a grand worth of rings and offing them on abused guns but i have little patients for business.

Nope havent tried them yet, Im still new to this ordering stuff from overseas, just a little wary, but Im a bit of a computer/internet dinosour. When I was looking for another scope a couple of weeks ago, I did have a look on their site, but thought that the difference wasnt that great, and then a bargain came up for a Kahles slightly used and in perfect nick so I couldnt resist. Might give them a go next time and see how things work out.

Yeah got a scope off them a while back and would be the first place I'd look if I wanted another.

Thanks guys for all the input.

What brands would have no warranty?

I'm looking at a leopold VX2. I am aware that if there is a warranty issue that it needs to go back through point of purchase not through any agent here.

Cheers again

Any brand that has an Aussie distributor will be warranty void if purchased yourself from overseas.

Not 'Warranty Void', just warranty not honoured in Australia.

You need to get it back to the USA for a warranty service. TOZ will help facilitate this if it is needed, but it will rarely be needed.

In my years of shooting I've had only one scope need warranty repair - and I've owned a fair few scopes in that time.

I have purchased scopes, mounts and bipods from The Optic Zone with no issues, but for a Leupold VX2, I would be bargaining hard in Australia first. Andrew at Magnum Sports seems to be competing very strongly for Leupold sales at the moment, and is a good bloke to deal with.
