RayG had the exact scope for the job for sale last October. Good quality, nice size. I have one of them myself. He advertised it at the end of last year, and it doesn't say sold, so you might be lucky.........

+1 I have two of the g&r 2-7 and a 3-12 very nice scopes.

One on the r9 one on my 6.5x55 and my 222.

Love the compactness of the 2-7s

Thanks gents. Looks like a good scope, although the price is more than I paid for the gun! But, you get what you pay for. I'll have a think about it.

I came across this while searching for a scope. Looks similar to the G&R. Can anyone comment on BSA scopes?

I had one BSA scope. Clarity was okay, but not up to weaver or loopy, more like a cheap tasco world class standard. It was definitely not a G&R.

I think I would try a fixed 4x or 6x before a cheap zoom, as I seem to remember they are supposed to be stronger. Not sure, as I have only ever had the G&R fitted to my springer. I did have a couple of Simmons Air Pro scopes that I got for mates for their 10m air rifles, and they were very nice.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I just bought one of these:

At $60 delivered, including mounts, it was too good to pass up. Thanks to all those who offered advice.
