Those old shooters.

Post by Curtley78 »

G'day Fellas,

Here is my latest salvaged and resurrected project.

Its an ex big bore rifle built on a Mark X action with a heavy fluted Maddco barrel chambered in .308 and topped off with a Wally Seibert scope that I hounded Rinso for.

(The scope is so clear you can see the craters on the moon with it, well almost).

Anyway I have worked up a load utilising Vihta Vouri N150 and Sierra 155 grn Palma match.

And does it shoot? Under an inch at 200 (I did my best with out wind flags).

Not bad for a commercial grade Mauser. The best $550 that I have ever spent.

A Lionel Weeks stock as well ... I have one of those under a bench in the gun room .. not sure which bench its under though.

I ended up replacing that Lyman scope with a Leupold 24 x 40 which has been boosted to 32 x 40 by Wally Siebert ... paid the princely sum of $250 for it.
