trevort wrote:In all seriousness it looks like a decent thing in a decent rifle but it just depends on the cost of ammo, If you reload and can get a faster more accurate centrefire for not much differnce in ammo cost then I would always go that way.

If you csnt be bothered loading and can get it in a decent rifle (not that savage) well bring it to the Missedathon and let me try it
Cost was the same as 17hmr ammo when I was working at the shop.

In answer to your last : viewtopic.php?p=199174#p199174 Read all about it here, in case you haven't already.

You are in Orange, would only be a couple of hours drive south, good weekend, and really a must do for all Austvarminters, at least once. :D

I wouldn't touch a Savage Bmag, and initial reports are that the new Ruger 77 isn't a world beater as far as accuracy goes.

CZ need to do one in 17WSM wasn't there talk that they were developing one?
This cartridge has a lot of potential, especially as it could be the first in a family of cartridges!

I'd love to see a 20WSM firing 32gr vmax I reckon it'd be a great little fox gun. Hopefully get over 2500fps too.

i doubt it as they have dropped the opposing locking lug on their rifles now

plus i think the action ain't strong enough or big enough . just my opinion .

There was a couple of fellas talking to them about it, it would'nt be done on the rimfire action, I am sure they would go the same way as ruger with a modified centrefire hornet action.

The ruger everyone had their fingers crossed on don't seem to have set the world on fire with accuracy, same old ruger problems, bolts needing shimming, triggers worked, poorly floated barrels.

That they do young man, thanks of course to the savage 99.

I know with Colleen little ruger 22 mag its an absolute great little rifle, the trigger was done before we picked it up, I got the barrel knurled so it was a press fit. Accurate as can be, just a great lil rifle

have a mate who has one and as has been stated earlier need to replace the stock with a boyds but that did improve accuracy dramatically.

No doubt it's the best rimfire magazine.

And and excellent safety, rock solid scope mounting system and most Rugers come in a variety of finishes and they even know about stainless steel.

It's just a shame they haven't come out with an accurate .17WSM rifle to set the world on fire. :(
