A ’56 vintage Model 2 BRNO .22 plus a ’78 Browning B78 High Wall .243 Win falling block single shot lever action rifle – both equipped with Harris bi-pods. I’m also the custodian of my father’s old Browning .22 pump action rifle.

Note, I'd be interested to hear from anybody who owns either a B78 or 1885 High Wall - absolutely beautifully constructed rifles.

Missed, such rifles unfortunately appear to be rare as hen's teeth. I've occasionally seen 22-250 Rem versions for sale but rarely any other caliber - except for a beautifully stocked 6mm Rem Miroku M78 version that was also owned by the bloke who sold me the B78 for $1100 back in '05. If and when the 35 year old original 26" round medium/heavy barrel noticeably depreciates in accuracy I'm contemplating upgrading it to a 6.5x55 Ackley Improved with a 28" heavy stainless barrel, such as a True-Flite Ultra-Match.

Your not alone, they look like a beautiful rifle, Harvey flashed his round for years. Fortunately I have never seen one in the flesh or most likely would be in my safe. I did look at getting a winchester low wall hornet a few years back but they were discontinued by the time.

Yep, a B78 has been on my wish list too - beautiful looking understated action, graceful lines. I save every photo of a B78 I find.

I read a biography of John Moses Browning recently, what an amazing man.

Marcus, note that my '56 BRNO's in the last pic. I'll post some more in due course. In the meantime, also note that its forearm is completely different in shape compared to the majority. I had it re-blued soon after buying it 'used' for $90 back in '76. Over the years its lovely slick and precise action made it a pleasure to use for the recreational hunting of rabbits but their noticeable population decline (most likely due to myxomatosis and/or calicivirus) in my areas prompted me to buy my first centre fire rifle in '05, namely, the Browning B78. Since then I've predominantly hunted larger game. I'll sift through my numerous B78 images & data and in turn, start a related new thread. I can just imagine some people drooling over their keyboards......!!

They are great photos! It's like playing "Where's Wally" checking out the gear in the background, the jigs, etc,etc........
