Take my word for it.. excellent game taker..good range of bullets.
A mate took a goat (head shot) at about 350 m with a standard military version a few years ago. He was a fine shot though.

Well, just joined while preparing for my move out to Oz at the end of the year, and thought I better put up pictures of two of my toys - especially as I understand I can't bring the sound moderators with me..

This is my Sako 75 Varmint in .223REM, with a Meopta 3-12x50 scope and Reflex T8 moderator.

and this is my Anschutz 1517DHB in .17HMR, with a 5-20x50 scope and SAK moderator.

Now all I'll need is somewhere and something to shoot with them when I get there!

Thx for the welcome. Sound mods are easy to get here now - for once, legislation (In this case, Health & Safety) has actually done us a favour. As soon as you mention protecting your hearing as the "good reason", it's a very brave police force that would refuse permission in these "compensation culture" times! :D

Is it all of Oz they are illegal in then? I only checked WA, as that's where we're going. I'm also pretty sure I've seen some NZ guys post on the US sites about using mods too....

Mate as far as Im aware, they're illegal in all of oz!! I like the hearing protection idea but I recon we'd get a response along the lines of "wear ear plugs".....
