Big G, it is on its way home, need to make some time to go pick it up. Been crook the last week so have to catch up on some things.
It will just need bedding in the stock and turn some necks to fit the chamber. Have 2207, 32gn zmax ready to go. No reason it wont be a shooter if I do my part.

Barrelled action is now home and tested some of my formed brass while at Missed's, chambered ok but may need a frac more turned off the neck. Will do the final barrel inletting tomorrow and get it bedded, finish some more brass and load it during the week.
Looking good for testing next weekend. :rifle:

Looks great. I would be happy to own it. Even more so if I had buit my own stock. What barrel profile?

Its a Howa 204 sporter take off barrel with a skim to remove the old calibre designation and about 10-12mm shorter to get a clean chamber and throat cut.

Kickin, it has come up a treat. Grinning every time I look at it.

Thanks Missed and thanks for dinner.

It went bang. :D

Finally got the action bedded in the stock last night and cleaned it up this morning. Popped out quite nicely.
Have had a problem with my 20VT body die during the week. It was tight on the cases from the case web down. Kept jamming cases, tried different lubes etc. The ADI 223 brass didn't want to fit, tried a Fed case and it was tight but worked. After trying a few work arounds and calling Kickin and Missed I was sick of sitting in the freezing cold in the shed.
So this morning after getting the stock sorted I tried again with the Body die. WTF it sized the brass all the way, tight but no stuck case and pushed the shoulder back to allow me to chamber easily. :? All I can put it down to is a much warmer day and a bit of expansion in the die, everything else was the same. Will test again in the cold in the morning, it is going to be a big frost here.
Loaded up a few cases with ADI 2207, 32gn Zmax, Rem 7.5 primers and a quick trip to a friends paddock.
Started at 17.5, 18.0, 18.3 and 18.5gn which filled the case and was a compressed load.
A few pics of targets shot at 100m, (a couple of 5 shot groups for DSD). Targets have 1moa squares.

With a bit of consistency on my part I think it will shoot OK. Kickin do you reckon it will be good enough :D . It was a relief to finally get to pull the trigger and get a good result.
Now to finish neck turning and a bit more testing at the higher loads.

18.3gn looks bloody good - I assume extraction was easy?

Good looking rifle, stock work to be proud of and it shoots - what's not to like mate.

A couple of pics of the assembled rifle wearing a Nikon 3-9x40 EFR I had spare. Not sure what scope it will end up with, started putting a few $ in the shooting jar.

Thanks Mick (in more ways than one).
I wont draw conclusions on which load to use until I try run a few more through it and get use to the rifle but I think there is potential. I was kneeling at the bench as I forgot my stool in the excitement
