Ignoring the political content in the link, be aware that the gun safe requirements for Vic are changing.

New safe requirements

Safes must now have steel walls 1.6mm.
Nothing else can be stored in them

1.6mm is tissue paper, our reg's have always been minimum 2mm

All seems a bit moot now that battery operated tools are everywhere. An angle grinder will be through almost anything in no time.

A gun safe is meant to limit access not to be impervious.
