as some would know, things have been a little bit hectic both on and off the range over the last week or so.

The Narromine Dubbo Rifle Club would like to thank the following organisations and individuals for the sponsorship and assistance they generously provided for the Australian Global Benchrest 600/1000yd BR Championships.

Copperhead Projectiles (Victoria)
Gunpro ( Dubbo)
ExtraVision ( Brisbane)
Optimus Projectiles ( Darwin)
Douglas barrels (USA)
Kelby's ( USA)
ARB ( Dubbo)
Narromine Tourism & Camping Park
Mr Craig Davies ( Narromine Shire Mayor)
Narromine Shire Council
Narromine Hardware
R Duff Butchery (Narromine)
Brenno's Bakery (Narromine)

Due to the very generous sponsorship provided, we were able to provide prizes to the value of over $6000 for the 600 and 1000yd BR Matches last week.

I would also like to thank all of the local and visiting shooters for the assistance, flexibility, cooperation and friendly atmosphere they provided prior to and during the week of LRBR competition.

Overall the weather encountered was extremely shooter friendly, with the exception of Friday, which unfortunately resulted in many competitors placing a shot or shots off the 1000yd BR target, which prevented the these shooters having their overall group and score aggregate results being included in the final compilations.

however these shooters were still eligible to win the engraved knives and GBA supplied relay badges for small group, highest scoring target etc.

Future NDRC 1000 and 600 club and major championship LRBR matches will now be organised and run by Simon Etcell, Brian McKinnon and Martin Wynne.

2020 match dates and details will be provided on the various forums in the near future.

2019 Australian 600/1000yd Global Benchrest Championship Match Result summary as follows.

Attending shooters have the choice of entering and competing in the following classes of LRBR competition.

GBA Heavy Gun
GBA Light Gun
308/223 Blind
308/223 Marked target
Light Gun Marked target

(note -- as can be seen for the HGB, LGM and 308/223 classes, the attrition due to the weather resulted many competitors being eliminated from the final standings)

Dave I'm sure i speak for a lot of people when i say a big thanks and well done over the years for the tireless effort in both promoting and organizing the 1000 and 600 yard matches over the years. Time to spend some quality time with the missus mate. Cheers.

As Grant said, congrats to all the competitors that toughed out the range.

To Dave and the Narromine crew,
A big thanks for the organising and running of the shoot. You make us N.Q. travellers feel at home, except for the wind on Saturday. Also a big thanks to the sponsors of the prizes donated. The friendliness and information shared amongst the shooters is appreciated by all and sundry. Especially that given by Rod and Jacko.
Thanks again all. Good health and shooting.
Cheers,
Trevor.

grant, tony , trev et al

thanks for the kind words, but as you all know since 2004 it has been a combined effort by all of us, to restore the reputation and credibility of Australian 1000yd BR with American LRBR organisations ( IBS originally and now the GBA).

if it was not for the direct and long term support of dave purcell, grant mcmullen, TZ, jeff rogers, al nielsen, trevor armstrong, mick easton, jacko, committee and all members of the NDRC etc etc , the International 1000yd BR Postal Matches would never have got off the ground and then evolved into the Southern Cross Rendezvous, the Southern Cross 1000/600yd BR Championships, and now our standing as a foundation member of the Global Benchrest Organisation.

All Australian LRBR competitors (past and present) should appreciate and never forget the support, sanctioning and recognition provided by the members of the IBS, IBS President Jeff Stover, members of the Virginia 1000yd BR Club (especially mike g, mike w, shaun hemmings, willie williamson, mike walker) and most importantly Virginia 1000yd BR Club (and now GBA) president Jeff Green.

The Americans were appalled when they became aware of the manner in which Australian 1000yd BR rules had been manipulated and bastardised.

Thankfully, our renewed relationship and recognition with and by the Americans now speaks for itself.

Much to the chagrin and embarrassment of a now very small and diminishing minority in Australia, we were the 1st and are still the only non American LRBR group to be officially recognised and now affiliated with an American long range shooting organisation.

I mentioned previously that we were able to provide prizes for the GBA 600/1000yd BR Championships to the value of just over $6000 for our matches last week.

It has been pointed out that this figure was slightly conservative, after compiling the invoices, I was surprised and most appreciative to see that the value was in fact around $7830. :D :D :D
