2018 1000yd BR SCC and 600yd BR

Post by dg »

in view of the apparent continuing interest and support of these events, for 2018 it has now been confirmed by the Narromine Dubbo Rifle Club members, that the schedule of planned events has been expanded to now include a 3 day (2 target /day 1000yd BR) match.

the 600yd BR will remain a 4 target single day event.

Scheduled dates and match programmes for 2018 are as follows;-

Wednesday 15th of August 2018 - Australian Copperhead 600yd Benchrest Championships.

Friday the 17th of August 2018 – Day 1 Southern Cross ExtraVision- Optimus Projectiles 1000yd BR Championships.

Saturday the 18th of August 2018 – Day 2Southern Cross ExtraVision- Optimus Projectiles 1000yd BR Championships.

Sunday the 19th of August 2018 – Day 3 Southern Cross ExtraVision- Optimus Projectiles 1000yd BR Championships.

Practise, preparation and sighting/tuning days – Tuesday the 14th of August and Thursday the 16th of August.

note that, in view of the experiences gained this year, the maximum competitor numbers for the 2018 600yd BR championships will be 35 competitors.

the SCC will now have a maximum nomination of 40 competitors.

for both events, competitors who attended this year's events are automatically included in the 2018 nominations.

should the quota of nominations be exceeded, additional entries are placed on a reserve list and are then moved forward, should any withdrawals occur.

to nominate or if you require any additional accommodation, match information details etc, please pm, email or phone via 0268892141.

Hi Dave,
Looks good. As long as the aging body holds up I will be there. I will do the same for the 600/1000 combined agg. trophies as this year.
Cheers,
Trevor.

WIN television (and possibly Prime) indicated today that they are interested in doing a lead up coverage and report on the 2018 600/1000 SCC matches.

Just a "small" bit of talent there.
I am with Trev we need to be planting some full grown trees. Though given the winds of the last week they would be leaning at 45 degrees me thinks.

Jeez, I havent even shot seriously out to any of those distances, but I could really get to like range shooting in places like that.

Dave good to see the sport promoted over there, dunno who those fellas are, but the jackets look good.

Oh yeah, the cap turned up on monday, thanks very much mate. :D

I agree with Trev. If we had ranges like that over here maybe we could have some world records as well. Would like to see them shoot at Narromine like we had last month or at Townsville and see how they would stack up then.
Cheers,
Trevor.
P.S. Trev that rifle looks good but remember pretty rifles do not always shoot well. We have a Nth. Queensland Queens Champ. whose stock is hacked out of packing case ply glued together.
