What comp, F Class? .308? I like 155 Dyers. 178 AMAXs go well too.

I have a box of Nosler Custom Comp 155gn 30 cals if you would like a handful for trying, they shoot pretty good out of my mates 300win mag. Let me know and Ill send you a sample pack. Don't know if they are any good for serious competition, but I reckon they must have something to do with competitive shooting as it says so on the box. They are pretty cheap when bought by the 250 count box.

Your barrel twist will dictate the bullet weight to a degree ie 13:1 will usually shoot 155's best as for type always shoot match bullets for match were possible. That said some like to use Amax's etc but match bullets will usually be the best for target work.
Some matches have restrictions on what you can use ie NRAA F Standard and Match Rilfe so check before you spend.
Other than that like any load, test various types and see what the rifle likes.
Keep in mind the following
Just because it works in someone else's rifle does not mean it will work in yours
BC as printed by manufacturer is often less than accurate and high BC will not stop the wind moving your bullet
Sheer velocity will not win matches accuracy will a well tuned load is what you need
Cost is a factor - spend based on expectation and result

Re: whats the choice for 308 target pills ?
Good advice from Rinso.Probably the 155 HBC's would be the cheapest suitable and legaly approved
Projectiles for either Target Rifle or F/class Standard on NRAA ranges. You can get them from State Rifle Association shops.I am concerned that you seem to be at a loss for information that should be available from your own club.Rules and other matter relating to projectiles and powder can be found on the NRAA website. Another site worth looking at is Oz/Fclass.
It takes a while to pick up the rules and ways of the sport, just keep poking along, ask questions and if possible go to other clubs, events, such as District Rifle Association meetings and Club Championships. There will be more people there and a mix of ideas and abilities.
Keep enjoying yourself.
Mike.

Re: whats the choice for 308 target pills ?
mate,its good.
asking here is easier than trying to pin down a club official locally.
as for going to other clubs.......not likely.
the other closest club [bluff out blackwater way]shut down.
i think theres one at springshore but im not sure about that one either.
from here to emerald is about 60km,and another 60+km to springshore then back again...not on my budget..
