Re: Rough review Lyman gen 6 powder dispenser

Hi Plowboy, Just wondering how the Gen 6 is going a year down the track. You still happy? cheers, curan Well probably not the best person to ask as I have only loaded about 150 rounds but has not missed a beat. But in saying that, it's the same as all other electronic scales, the bench has to be le...

Lithgow black mountain barrels.

http://www.lithgowarms.com/portfolio-it ... n-barrels/

I don't know if they are available yet. I suspect not as they don't have a list of calibres on the site yet but will anyone be having a go at one?

Re: Quick and dirty range report lithgow crossover.

Fair enough. I have never fired a rimfire CZ so don't know the triggers on them. I reckon if it was $100 cheaper I would have bought it. Still might yet!

Re: Quick and dirty range report lithgow crossover.

Got a hands on look today..... Love the look and feel of it. But not the trigger. Well not for the price of it. Probably could improve it but it seemed to have a lot of creep.the comb was very high too but maybe felt that way because there was no scope on the rifle. But it shouldered very nicely and...

Re: Night vision or infared scope?

Do yourselves a favor and checkout the UK night vision forums. Plenty of homemade digital NV systems and they are doing great stuff with them. I have all of the gear to make my own but I don't have the time to put it all together again nor the time to use it! I reckon that after I see a few reviews ...

Never tried any other bullet pullers than the kinetic one. Never pulled factory rounds either.

Re: Damn you Martin Bryant . . . . . .

I would love to be able to have a 10/22 in the safe as well as nan AR. But what I want mostly is to be able to put a can on my rifles now! I am not one for high volume shooting however when I used to chase goats on a mates place in NSW it would have come in handy and also for the piggies. But mostly...

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

Yep Trev is right. That's why I went to Winchester for a start, no crimped in primers. You only have to taken them out the first time and so a tool like the Dillion is a bit full on if only used on a couple of hundred cases and then never used again.

What's PPU stuff like?

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

I have looked at YouTube clips of the Dillon one and it looks really good but after what Trev said about his brass lasting as long as it has, I reckon to justify all of that cost in getting set up, you would want to be shooting a hell of a lot of volume. Either that or maybe a few people share in it...

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

You can buy a primer pocket swage that takes the crimp out of the pocket without cutting brass. It is also uniformed so everything should be the same as non crimped brass. However these things cost from $70 upwards.

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

Blokes on the states reckon it is very soft, primer pockets are loose and inconsistent. So never bothered with it. Before my reloading days, I bought American eagle factory stuff(bloody good in my rifle) and most of it was stamped LC(lake city) and by most reports that is ok to use. I never had a p...

Re: Starting reloading

I got a couple of digital scales off evil bay and lost confidence in them really quick. Always having to re calibrate the scales every few throws. I did cave and bought a lyman auto dispenser when the exchange rate was good but have not used it much since.

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

Ok well that would be a hell of a lot easier! I have each batch in its own box according to times fired. All sorted by brand too(federal/Winchester). I have about 8 batches I suppose all up but some of those are getting down in numbers due to losses to the grass so I would be getting rid of a couple...

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?

I was told early on to make sure that you do not mix stuff that has been fired several times with once fired. I was told to keep everything the same in batches so that it minimised surprises like split necks and so on.

Do you mix batches?
