Re: .17 wsm

If this little rimmy was available when I got my hummer, I might not have gone down the centrefire road........thank god it wasn't! But seriously, having a rimfire with a bit more believable "approaching centrefire performance" it would be an actual gap filler for a shooter in a small-ish ...

Re: Identify .22 magazine

Not a Stirling, the rear section does not flair out like a Stirling. Well at least ones of my brothers rifle anyway. It was a mid '90s model.

Re: Seating Depth

I just load as long as the mag will take. I am not really sure of the jump but for me, I am never going to be single loading while shooting bleeding things and that all I do. I did once make up a case to have a look at seating depth while touching the lands looked like and they don't fit in the mag.

Re: LGS rant

Grimm while you are correct, it's pretty bad business to fob off maybe 50000 potential customers(wonder how many people in Australia do reload?) just because you have a big market on the other side of the world. That being said, the price they pay for the same powder just drive me mad. It is nothing...

Re: LGS rant

I was talking to a shop owner yesterday about powder and he was also frustrated at Winchester. He is looking to change powders he stocks to stuff he can get from nioa as for some reason he can get a small quantities trucked down from Qld. Now how is it possible that a truck can come from Qld with po...

Re: Best projectile for 223 out to 300yards

Well best shooting, nosler 50gn BT. Probably best all round actually. Best value? Maybe 55gn Sierra super roo. Very good in all departments. SHOTS very close second. I don't mind the zmax 50 gun either but have not had the time to load develop properly with them and cannot get as tighter groups as t...

Re: LGS rant

Keith, never voiced an opinion as to why, I have been told why. Just said that 100kg was the minimum that would be sent by courier.

Re: LGS rant

Winchester is in Vic so I would assume the same problem with transport would apply. Is it NSW people having this trouble or are Vic shooters suffering the same fate? Well as I said above mate Winchester won't ship powder order UNDER 100kgs. So dunno about what Winchester stocks are like but getting...

Re: LGS rant

Yeah it is a pain. Considering they let petrol be transported in massive trucks but a few kgs of powder is a massive no no. Maybe not post bust courier I can't see what the problem is.

Might be a nice Riverina pill then. Nothing bigger to shoot around here but foxes really. Unless they less us shoot the roos in time.

Re: LGS rant

Well I know I am not the only one here but I have a very good relationship with my supplier. I have never had a problem. Now I have to qualify this a little. He is a very small operator, working from home as an ammunition seller. He also does reloading equipment and scopes etc. Basically everything ...

Re: FFP Scope and Varminting

Jeff the scope on my rifle is a FFP scope. I'm pretty you should remember, that was the weekend that I out shot you with your rifle and you outshot me with mine! While I like my scope.....well love it actually. It is not the perfect rifle for varminting. When used on high power, the crosshairs becom...
