Re: 22/204

Can get over 3500 with 50’s in the 223. Not that far off 3600 and could push harder. Great brass life so far. Enter a 223ai reamer and I expect 50’s to be over 3700 It’s rumoured online 40’s might get to 4000 with the right powder but that could be overdoing things

Re: Tikka T1x

All good I have a tuner with a bloop tube on it here, was more so wondering more about the rifle. I’ve borescoped my little marlin and sad to say that after all the years dragging it around farms in the rains and dust, the cancer has got in pretty bad and the barrel looks like the moon surface mixed...

Re: t3 build

It’s awesome mate. Placed 6th at the WA queens against 48 of Australia’s best. Beat plenty of stolle’s, barnards and such.

Current state of play with 223 projectiles

Been out of the feral bashing world for a bit, and nearly out of my last batch of ammo that I loaded a while back. Before I go and spring for more projies, wondering what most are running? I’ve got temptations to screw on a new 12 or 14 twist tube in the near future so there’s chance to run 40’s as ...

Re: Moor Creedmoor questions on loads

30 inch krieger 1:8 twist will help you get the velocity to use 140gr bullets. It’s an F class rifle though so not really a carry around hunting type. Some vmax or nosler ballistic tips would be better for hunting. Depends what your wanting to do.

New record

Looks like there is a new benchmark to have a go at... this game isn’t getting any easier!

Re: Finally

Yes I think I got sucked in for the softest primers that should be nice and gentle and produce small groups. Powder likes to be lit. Mag primers do it. Even in the 284 I had probably my best barrel not perform for 500-600 rounds because I swore it would want br2’s. Change to fed golds and it came to...

Re: Finally

As someone who has ZERO experience with competition shooting and a relative newbie to reloading my logic is rather simple (and open to feedback from our local experts): SRP means a smaller primer pocket, which means more brass in the head of the case and perhaps less ignition energy (compared to LR...

Re: Finally

I enjoy discussions about this sort of stuff. You won’t be the first person that I have heard from having trouble turning a 6x47 into a tight shooter. Those that did it wound them back to dasher speeds. A friend who used to run 243ai’s said more than once that he had no accuracy nodes above 3080 and...

Re: Finally

From experiences I have noted, the 260 improved versions (there are a few) can work with 2209 and CCI450’s and possibly rem 7.5’s (never tried them) as they appear to be the warmer SRP’s on the market. However some people I shoot with had problems and ended up going back to a larger primer and it he...
