I just discovered that Olin (Winchester) Australia do not import that model CZ - Bugger. Mate why do you want to shoot heavier pills? I really believe that unless your a long range target shooter that there is no need for the longer pills. 60gn pill should stablise in the 1 in 12 and shoot fine rea...

LoL despite the fact that GriMo is playing funny buggers, I think you would be better to look at the savage or the ruger. In saying that I dont see the need for heavy pills in the 223 as it hasnt got much of an engine room to launch them, Lowndsie has a 1in9 twist and shoots 50gn pill for varmints. ...

LoL Why do you need a knife? When you shoot a rabbit with a 55gn proj at 3300fps there is not much to gut and skin lol!

Mate I have a hornady thrower and I NEVER have had an inconsistantcy of up to 1 whole grain. Finer smaller powders throw so much better such as BM2 much better then 2208 but I weigh every 5 and never have a trouble I always look at my cases and how much powder is in them. I still have all ten digits...

Gday Sarath and welcome to the site. I dont know that you would say the 25/06 is just above the 243. The 25/06 is basically just a necked down 30/06 and the 243 is a necked down 308 pretty much. There is a fair difference in velocity between the two. The 243 will shoot a 85gr pill at 3050fps where ...

Rimfire 22lr: What does yours eat?

My rimfire 22lr is a Cz452 american and it loves PMC Zappers or Winchester powerpoints. Really this rifle is something I always take with me and think its probably one of my most loved rifles. It has shot more rabbits than anything else I own combined! Maybe I need to find a place with more rabbits!!!

Hearing Protection.

When I first started shooting I use to ignore hearing protection except at the range as I am a little bit older I am starting to realise the value of a $1 pair of ear plugs can give you. I'm only 22 and was starting to notice a bit of tinitus (random ringing of the ears) which since just wearing ear...

Varminting Kit:

Aside from rifles and scopes what are the things you take with you when you go varminting. If going down to a warren I'll take rifle, range finder, spotting scope and camera. When spotlighting for varmints it looks more like this: Rifle Roof mountable Spotlight Bipods or window rest 4wd Usually leav...

Basically a pop gun was like a plastic very very weak air rifle that had a cork tied to the barrel. you would put the cor...

Mate I use a very mild load atm in my 22-250. It was the first lot of load development I had done and I have still got left overs from it but when I re-do the 22-250 I'll heat up the loads. But this is what I use now: Load Name: 22-250 pet load Bullet Mfg: Nosler Bullet Type: Shots SP Bullet Caliber...

Mate it should just be a rebarrel and thats it. I dont know if you can buy threaded and chambered barrels for the 17hmr for the CZ's but you can with the rugers and you may be able to get a bit lopped off the end and re-threaded/chambered and your away! But doing that will probably run to about $500...

I think from memory jase the 204 launches a 32gn bullet at about 4000fps a 22-250 burns more powder but launches a 40gn bullet in excess of this when hand loaded. Trajectory from memory is about the same but the 22-250 has more energy.

Hi mate welcome to AusVarminters.

I know SFA about the 204 mate so I can't really comment as I really dont know and dont want to guess. I do know that BM2 is great in my 222rem.
