Cheers,

Nothing Trevor. Push bike chain inside a bit of clear plastic fuel hose works well, too.

Remember, the firearm is secure if the chamber is empty and the lever can't open wide enough to chamber a round....

Re: Restoring an old carving knife

I really stuffed up the patina which was rather like a good bluing job on a barrel, very deep and dark, the some numpty ham fisted dickhead decided to "clean" it up. Still kicking myself. Numptys and gurus all generally start from the same level of ignorance Mark. Don't be too hard on you...

Re: Restoring an old carving knife

My Dad used to bring stuff back in an orange juice bath he'd make by mashing up windfall oranges. Used to sit out the back of his shed. But it used to take 4 to 6 weeks to do the job. If he was in a hurry he had a vinegar solution he would use for a day or 2 first.

Re: Rubbing it

So you can see what a nice piece of Tassie Blackwood can look like....... This is chosen timber for the Tikka stock. You will have seen the posts before, but the photos definitely show how nice the Tassie Blackwood can be (although Missed did outperform on this one..... !). Unfortunately I'm still p...

Yep, just two to make up to a nice neat 100, hate empty holes in the ammo boxes, and also having two primers left over.

Re: Reloading my new 25 cal.

Knocked up 10 rounds to take for a try on the weekend.

Used 20gn of 2207 behind a 87gn soft point. My old Hornady book suggests that as a starting load, so it'll do to see if everything else works on the old girl.....

Re: Reloading my new 25 cal.

Sounds like you need a trim die and a fine toothed hacksaw, or a little hobby drop saw -although if this is a project where you might only ever form up 100 or so cases you might not be able to justify the investment. Marcus Spot on Marcus. I'm only ever planning to form up the 60 cases, so it's no ...

Re: Reloading my new 25 cal.

Sounds and looks like an interesting project Curan. Marcus Yeah, Marcus. I hope I'll be shooting it when I get back from my next run to work. I got another 20 cases trimmed tonight. That makes 40 done. The brass grows by nearly 40 thou when it is formed, so it takes a bit of trimming back. Lots of ...
