Re: 30 PC40

I get 2500fps with 123gr projies out of my 6.r grendel and they are super accurate.

I only play with ADI powder, I'm past worrying about supply issues.

Yes it did but a 220 Russian is just a 7.62x39 necked down to 22 cal.

Re: 30 PC40

Thanks for the explain Scott, looks and sounds good. What reamer or series of reamers was used ? Did he get one specially ground for this chamber ? I have a spare 30cal barrel in the shed, and I could use my Zastava 7,62x39 action. :homer: Would it be possible to just ream out the original Russian ...

Re: 30 PC40

This shows the process 6.5 Grendel Expanded to 30cal neck turned fired loaded 125gr TNT https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200510/5f99abc2255d83dfa86a428a7b9fdfbe.jpg Quickload is suggesting 2850fps worth a 125gr TNT. That is using 38gr as the water capacity which is what the 30 Grendel comes out at...

Re: 30 PC40

Camel wrote: Sun May 10, 2020 2:52 pm So if I understand right, the evolution started with 7.62x39 as a parent case to the PPC, which evolved into the Grendel, and now this cute little round. Is that how it goes ?
Other than missing a small primer being added you nailed it. So it could also be a 7.62x39 Improved I guess.

Re: 30 PC40

So a skim of the necks almost cleaned them up, gave me 12 thou necks. I only had a 331 bushing so after spring back and 1thou tension the loaded neck was 0.3315 which isn't ideal on a 332 neck chamber. I will get a smaller bushing and see what happens with 2 to 3 thou tension. https://uploads.tapata...

Re: 30 PC40

The 125gr Speers should get up into the 2700 to 2900 range so they should be good on non deer sized critters. The rifle I’m testing it out of is a single shot predator, it’s a hunter style stock so it can go both ways.

30 PC40

Hi all, I got to fireform 3 30 ProCal 40 degree cases today. It starts life as a 6.5 grendel and is expanded and improved. The idea is to try and match a 30BR without all the case prep. It needs a neck skim but that's all the prep other than expanding. The 30BR needs to be opened up, shortened and t...

Re: 20cal Pellet availability

Not a lot of options that I have seen before. Klaus lists 3 different styles but I cant comment as I've never owned a 20cal air rifle. I use H&N 177 pellets in my air pistol and have used the 22cal ones in an air rifle and both shot well. https://www.acme-firearms.com/haendler-natermann-air-pell...

Re: 22-250Aai

I dont just do it for load development, this is the data from when I ran in the barrel on the 6mm creedmoor. I figured if you are going to fire some rounds you might as well get some data out of it. Don't give me a hard time, I was cleaning after 3 shots and not 1. They are the first 27 shots throug...

22-250Aai

So this is how I start load development, is it the best way? probably not but it works for me. I usually shoot at a target at 50m at the same time so I et a short range zero that I can adjust when at longer range. But at 50m you find you get a very good windage zero. I work out a maximum charge and ...

Re: Factory 6mm Creedmoor

The best one i have seen is a gino at little river. he had a blazer tactical rifle in 338 lap, with a big NF scope (with fuck all elevation) and a BORS. He was shooting at a target at 100m for half a day. After every cease fire he would fire 2-3 shots and then sit down and talk to his mate and drink...

Don't know, there aren't any ranges open for me to test them.

A mate shot's sub MOA at 900y with factory 6.5CM ammo so would think there is a good chance with this stuff.
