In reality it makes no difference which one you pick - they are both better than a Zastava or Browning.

Re: Range visit, next step?

OK I've joined the less is more brigade and just threw together 4 each of 20.5g and 21.0g :o

I may get a chance on the weekend or it may have to wait another week before I throw em down range and see how they go. :D

Re: Range visit, next step?

Hey Marcus, Logic and reasoning elegantly put, does that really have a place in a shooting forum    Yes, too many toys tools is a bit of an issue at times when it comes to choosing what to grab. You are right though the little scout is best when used as a walk around and shooting of...

Re: Range visit, next step?

Get another gun :mrburns: That's enough from you if you don't mind   What about stoking them up a bit more? IIRC according to the online ADI book 22.0g was max, 22.5g showed no signs of pressure and I actually had started to load up some 23.0g the other night but the case was pretty full...

Re: Range visit, next step?

Mmm don't have any BM1 so will try and stick with powders I have, cheaper to buy more pills than powder    It got me thinking though as I do have some RL15 and RL17 (use that in the 17Rem) but just checked the Alliant web site and they don't list either of those for the 40g pill in t...

Range visit, next step?

I scored a box of .224 Vmax 40g'ers so thought I'd give em a try in the Bergara Scout. Previously put Sierra and Nosler 40g thru with good success. Both of those have been flat base and the vmax a boat tail. Starting to think the lil scout doesn't like boat tails as results weren't great, not bad bu...

Re: Brass collection display

Nice, looks good.

Throw up a list of what you have (or want) and collectively you may get a few additions?

Re: Accuracy problem diagnosis

Hunting rifle or target rifle? I know a 5 shot group is well err two shots better than a 3 shot group but one of the reasons I stop at a 3 shot group when sighting in (hunting rifles only) is that is easier to shoot and go away feeling pretty confident with things (yes, ignorance can be bliss). Alwa...

Re: Tikka Varmint urge?

Rest easy, gone off the idea (for now) Went out this morning for a casual stroll to tag some roos, threw the 5.6x57 in just in case. Got out there and it was blowing a gale so the decision was an easy one and the 5.6x57 got the knod. Those 75g Amax's did an awesome job on the cross gully shot...

Re: Tikka Varmint urge?

I must confess I had a peek at one in the shop this arvo when grabbing something else  Typical Tikka feels good in the hands, smooth as silk with a stock that is nothing exciting to look at but would no doubt shoot like stink  On one hand I want one on the other hand if I want to go all ...

Re: Tikka T3 question

JMO but why not just get a DNZ Gamereaper, those things look good and work a treat (yes, allum not steel though)? Mate who is asking is a grumpy old bugger and very set in his ways, and no its not me, even if the description fits.  Marcus, thanks mate. :D Must be your twin Sent from my i...

Re: Tikka Varmint urge?

Well I spose an urge is the same as an itch, you better scratch it mate, it won't go away [emoji12] There is always hope, even though I do have to stop in at the LGS to grab some 12g shells this week sometime   I reckon seeing you have the 17 and a 222 a 20 cal would be betterer, either ...

Tikka Varmint urge?

Mmmm last week I developed a bit of an urge for a Tikka Varmint in .223, not real sure why but kinda hoped over the weekend the feeling would go away. Have spent the weekend so far building a small landing/deck on the shed and will spend the arvo with the youngest (beer and bacho's 8) ) and not shoo...
