Re: Ultrasonic cleaner recipe.....

I used vinegar and dishwashing detergent but the instructions on using acetic acid were to rinse, then run a cycle in bicarb to neutralise the acid. The cream of tartar gives me the same results without having to do the bicarb rinse Im with trevort, after trying many different recipes i'm now just ...

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner - Heads Up

Hi Guys, Not sure if this stuff has been mentioned before- didn't read all the posts- but has anyone used 'Simple Green' (citrus degreaser I think)? At work we use it diluted in hot water and it takes heavy carbon build-up off in a matter of minutes. Cheers, Jason. Have seen Simple Green for sale a...

Re: What Rifle for a new shooter?

Howa stainless varmint in .204 ruger is a good choice, stay away from axiom stock as they flex, trying to get a steady rest on one with a bipod is impossible.

Re: Reloading for the 17 rem

Hi matt20, all rifles like a different recipe, my 700BDL shoots tight groups with 22.5grns of AR2206, CCI primer and Hornady HP in Remington case.

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner - Heads Up

Thanks for the heads up, for $25 and a 1 year warranty I couldnt resist. Gave it a try today with 100 17 rem cases (in lots of 25) and found it to work very well, first cleaning was with vinegar and then 2 cleaning rinses with water, will try other liquids as well to find the best, maybe even try Co...

Re: Reloading for the 17 rem

Im using the same rifle but minus the stainless barrel, serial number has the A prefix also (early model), shoots very well with 25 grn Hornady HP, 22.5grns AR2206H , CCI primer and I have a old RCBS trimmer which does the job but there are far better on the market these days.

Re: marlin XL7 in 270

I've got a XL7 in 30/06 and just love it, bought it for deer hunting and wanted a rifle that was light, cheap and shot well out of the box. For under $700 you cant go wrong, just dont expect the quality of the finish to be as good as a T3.

Re: 17 Cal Question

I've been using 25grn Hornady HP, just bought 200 hornady 25grn Vmax and about to start loading, the Vmax have a better BC over the hollow point. What .17 are you loading for ?
