Re: Rough review Lyman gen 6 powder dispenser

It still throws reliably, it doesn't take long to warm up, and I've learnt to tap the feed tube with a pencil if it throws light and an extra tenth of a grain falls out. :D Bloody good tip mate! If I ever get out of the house again to shoot enough to reload I will try it out! I have issues with min...

Re: ZOMBIE MAX .224 55 GRAIN

I have the 50gn model and I like them. Not as good as the Nosler BT in my rifle but accurate enough and value for money. I might be able to get them shooting better but I have not had time to shoot for months now.

Re: Dented cases?

I always dent the case neck in my .223 if I eject quickly. If I am not doing a quick follow up I slowly pull the bolt back and I never dent one. But as others have said if you are still getting a dent, get it checked out. Is clambering/locking hard? I did have a problem of my reloads being difficult...

Re: Reloading

Baring in mind you have only shot a 22, forget all about reloading until you are proficient with your shooting rimfires. After you get a centre fire, learn to shoot that, then worry about reloading. Good advice! It also really depends on what volumes you are shooting. When I was a single bloke, I w...

Re: HBN anyone use it?

Hmmm. Cannot find the aerosol can stuff in Australia and they want huge money for shipping from Canada. Might be thinking a whole lot more about this!

Re: HBN anyone use it?

I was more thinking of using it to aid cleaning. Swabbing the barrel after it's clean is supposed to aid in cleaning. The bloke in the cleans with a bore snake and only cleans every couple of hundred shots.

I am not really planning on coating bullets.

HBN anyone use it?

Hex Boron Nitride. I saw a clip on YouTube about using coated bullets in this stuff and the bloke was getting a decrease in velocity spread from cold to warm barrel, easier barrel cleaning and potential longer barrel life. I have no idea if it is useful for corrosion protection but the bloke said it...

Re: You arent always right

Yeah been using your mix for a while adam and with the new cleaners it works really well. I am also cleaning the cases before de priming so I have clean cases to re size and then clean them again afterwards. Ever thought of getting a universal de-priming die? It saves that extra cleaning step, only...

Re: Lithgow black mountain barrels.

Never been interested in the bling thing with bang sticks. I have never been one for polishing and shining rifles so a bland looking tube is no bother at all. As long as they are accurate and easy to clean I don't care.
