Re: What rifle?

I've been thinking Pugster, which is a scary thought! If you haven't bought a rifle yet or had much experience shooting you should start with a .22LR no matter how tempted you may be to leap into a centerfire such as a .223. .22LR ammo is dirt cheap in comparison to any other calibre out there. You...

Re: Spotting scope specs

A couple of note for Pugster1K to consider for a range shooting spotting scope.... - Angled eye piece scopes are better from prone or the bench when by yourself, as the set up can be more versatile. See the photo in the post by deyeye223 and you can see the angled eyepiece lets him place it good an...

Re: Best Long range scope but can also do short distance

well duh Sean that was the point. The more questions he asks and the deeper we get the less sense it will make until you actually start doing it. I was illustrating the point and I recommended he buy a 22 and come to the Missedathon bugger that if he go's to one of them he will get back and be $20 ...

Re: Reloading

I believe that magnum is a name that was borrowed/stolen from the wine industry, it really just means that the container (cartridge case) is bigger than normal, refer to the size of a magnum of champagne compared to a standard wine bottle. Bigger cartridge case/bottle equals bigger capacity for pow...

Re: Best Long range scope but can also do short distance

its not that hard to hit the target at a 100yd benchrest match with the right equipment and a little bit of tuition, Even I can do it Its a whole different ball game putting all the shots together into a group small enough to be competitive. Thats were skill comes in, not just at reading the wind a...

Re: Reloading

Hi pugster 1k, For me, the old venerable Brno/cz is the one that floats my boat. In fact I'm thinking of getting myself another one to put back in the safe. A magnum is the name supplied to a cartridge, slightly improved if you like, over the parent cartridge eg. 22 and 22 magnum, 222 and 222 magnu...

Re: Best Long range scope but can also do short distance

Only shot a 22lr, thinking you are new to shooting, well forget all about this long range stuff until you have learned how to shoot in general. Small steps are the way to go. What licence do you hold ? Go visit a range if you can, check out some of the gear others are using, maybe even have a shot ...

Thank you, I have been researching and cannot find a price for the Ruger Hawkeye in 223. Does it come in a .22 as a lot of people are suggesting I st...
