Re: Shiney rings on brass

Is it only on fired brass? The reason I ask is mine get that and it’s caused by them rattling around in their storage case in the car. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro This could be the answer, as no stretching or problems other than these marks. I will clean them and carry them differently aft...

Shiney rings on brass

The pic shows my 204 brass has a bright ring just down from the shoulder but no raised edge inside or out and none of the usual pressure signs. The load is not a hot one and shoots very well, I'm just puzzled where this ring comes from. Could it be a from machining marks in the chamber or whatever, ...

Re: Opinions on 17Hmr

There are good rifles out there, the ammo lets them down. Yep, how true is this, when you find ammo that shoots well in your rifle then buy a few bricks of said ammo, all good until that stuff runs out and the next batch of the same stuff shoots all over the place. This has happened to me twice and...

Re: Opinions on 17Hmr

I am very happy with my CZ 17HMR, I got this rifle so I could snipe rabbits out a bit further than the 22LR when I am hunting in settled farmland where noise is an issue. Also walking around after dark with a torch the 17HMR really shines as a low noice fox destroyer, just check some of Fenrings pos...

Re: Meopta Meopro 3-9x42 zplex?

G'day Johno, several meoptas in the family with a 3-9x50 being the closet to what you are enquiring about. To my eyes the zdplex on the meoptas is just a tad thinner than a standard leupold duplex, I have vx3 & vx3i and both fine & standard duplex reticles so I made the comparison. The meopt...

Re: Looking to reload, so it's time for silly questions

Like many others I started with a very basic Lee Loader, then progressed to a Simplex turret press, then later a Redding O frame press. Not hard to load good ammo with a beam scale and some patience. I used the Simplex for priming for a bloody long time but now use a K & M hand primer. I give my...

Re: Spotlighting helper

One thing that years of spotlighting has taught me is the biggest reason for not finding things under the light is because you didn't hit them. There are times when grass, range etc do make finding them hard but I would say better than 90% of times it because the animal isn't there to be foun...

Re: Which GPS?

I use a Garmin 62s, good screen easy to operate and hasn't ever failed to log on even
in some very shitty locations. There is a new model out now 64 I think that may be even
better. Most Garmin products work well.
