Re: Victoria bans 5+ capacity bolt-action shotguns

Luckily mine is only a 3 shot.

Funny how the only people who keep messing with my rights are politicians, the criminals seem to have more respect.

Re: Thoughts on Winchester Highwall or varmint hunting.

Ive always wanted a single shot falling block single action, earlier on wanting a Ruger Number 1 but lately favoring a Winchester Highwall. Ive also been wanting another 220 swift and thought a Highwall in 220 swift would be great on rabbits. What are peoples thoughts on using a Highwall for varmin...

Re: Here I go again, what to purchase?

I just purchased a Ruger Go Wild in 7mm/08 but .308 is also offered. These are Cerakoted in bronze, 3 lug bolt, fitted with a muzzle brake and a good recoil pad. They take an A1 style magazine and are under $2k. May be worth a look. Regards Thanks mate, I hadn't specifically spotted one of these an...

Here I go again, what to purchase?

Been thinking (again, I know) about a new 308W rifle. Maybe something leaning a bit towards long range but without going crazy and keeping costs reasonable. I've been impressed with my 270W Browning X-Bolt with brake so I consider that a good starting point. Love the smooth action, light trigger (wi...

That looks very nice. How big is the lake, I've forgotten?

I hear that HMAS ANZAC is going to be relocated to Lake Burley Griffin as a new tourist attraction now it has been decommissioned. I guess there was no point in sinking her there.

Re: Trigger gauge

Well, I finally bought a digital trigger gauge. Just a cheap Chinese one. When it arrived I tested it and got surprising results, which made me assume the gauge was crap. So I watched a few videos and did a basic comparison test with some weights and it turns out to be fairly accurate. The result of...

Re: Does Taipan still make projectiles

I bought about 3000 of his rejects of those pills when he was closing up and had used 6000 of the good ones in years previous all put through my 22-204. They went well in it and were accurate and I now use them in the .223. If you want to sell them let me know. Cheers. Good to hear they are OK. I h...

Re: Does Taipan still make projectiles

I discovered a box of 500 Taipan projectiles in my collection and am not sure where I got them. I tried to look them up but it appears they ceased trading around 2022. Is that correct? How good are they? They were pretty good at ‘normal’ velocities. Not always as good/consistent at high velocities ...
