Re: Welder

Even if you grind the gal off, zinc fumes are poisonous, so avoid breathing the fumes and drink lots of milk ( acts as an antidote ) .

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph

Jeff's theory that the sensor beam has a wide angle rather than that of a laser has merit but believing the beam stays perpendicular to the bullet path and not the Crony housing is well lets just say a little unlikely

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph

I enjoy a challenge and a puzzle. I'm not convinced. Can someone put a picture up that shows a path shorter than the line parallel to the crony?

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph

It is possible to "bend" the Crony on it's hinge and aim the sensors toward each other, but you will have to show me how to change the sensor angle otherwise?

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph

My thoughts tell me the distance between the two sensors will only increase with angle giving slower readings.
The shortest path is the parallel one.
Am I missing something?

Re: springs

Sorry, the remnants of the pen are long gone. This one is similar but much lighter (.2 oz) Look for a pen where the button stays up under light spring pressure and when pressed takes up the slack before the cartridge starts to move down and out.(hope that makes sense ) The big cartridge under the ho...

Re: springs

I found a clicky pen that had the perfect spring up the top under the button for my 101. The spring its self gives 1.5 oz of trigger pull but combined with the friction of the sear etc. the total pull is 10.5 oz, much better than standard but not quite benchrest quality.

Re: I got a new toy today

Range time tomorrow to sight it in and run it in slowly. I'll take pics then. Million dollar question on running in, how many shots between barrel cleans? Be interested to hear opinions, but make it fast... My aim is; Use a good copper solvent , clean after every shot until there's little or no cop...

adamjp wrote:F in FX stands for 'Fixed', referring to the magnification. V stands for 'Variable'.

An FX2 is equal in build quality to a VX2. Same adjustment mechanism, same lens coatings, etc.

An FX3 is equal in quality to a VX3. Again with the coatings, adjustment, etc.
And your scope box says FX3. :D

Re: Giving some thought to the perfect spolighting rig

A faster burning powder might be more suitable for shortened barrels to reduce muzzle flash and velocity loss.
That being said, 2206h is on the quicker side for the 39/40 grain pills and might have enough lee way for slightly shorter barrels.
