Re: WTF!
Was pleasantly surprised when I heard a interview on the ABC yesterday. The interviewer actual called a bit of the bullshit. criminals are criminals and will not hand in their unregistered firearms so what is the amnesty about. Also questioned the statement about criminals sourcing their firearms co...

Re: Anyone else got a veggie garden going?
One tomato so far this year, bloody labrador keeps helping herself. Destroyed a chili plant the other day jumping to reach the higher tomatoes. Looking yesterday there should be 3 or 4 ripe enough to pick this afternoon if she hasnt got them already.

Re: 45/70 for Varmints....
I use 07 with my lighter 330gr bullets but they are a lighter plinking load only around 1300fps. Quite accurate and 1" groups are the norm at 50 so head shots on rabbits. Still more velocity than I got with BP loads with the same pill and I shot a few fallow with them. Couple of sambar I have s...

Re: .204 BlitzKings
I think sierra have probably priced themselves out of the market. Federal are now offering 100 rd packs in the more popular varmint rounds loaded with V-max, S&B use V-max in their ammo. Sierras are a great pill but when you start looking at the other similar options available for around half th...

Re: Questions about using a smoker
I cook to temp and nearly always wrap. Cook time can vary, I have had lamb shoulders take anywhere from a bit over 4hrs to 6.5hrs. Once the outside has developed a nice bark and taken on about as much smoke as it can I wrap in foil. Stops the outside going really dark and stops it drying out. Even l...

Re: Pulled too hard
Think I am on to my 3rd now and grabbed a new set of collets for it a month or two back because the old ones were flogged out. Still they all pulled over 1000rds before letting go. Havent had one break where yours did, all mine let go where the handle goes into the head. One of them had a serious be...

Re: The Tale of the 22-250 to 308 to 22-250 again Model 70
So I dropped the rifle off to Gunsmith Graeme Dunnet who is newly based in Goulburn on Tuesday and asked him to fit a stainless 1in9 or 1in8 Bergara barrel chambered in 22-250rem in a medium shorter barrel which will act as a walk around varmint and fallow deer rifle which is what I am after for ar...

Re: A question for the SFFP folks here
First up, I gather it won't change anything other than the criminal status of it. The caveats and rules are drawn from legislation everywhere else in Australia, just not NSW. Finally, if you disagree with terminations, that's fine - don't have one. They aren't making it compulsory. Why change anyth...

Re: A question for the SFFP folks here
It is a far more complex issue than just decriminalising abortion which I think most people support and where rabbitz 85% came from. As proposed I doubt it would have anywhere near that support, certainly it hasnt got 50% support in parliament or glady wouldnt have postponed the vote. I am certainly...
