Re: These couple of beginners..............

The Scottish chap doesn't have to do it again, it's a national record

Am I seeing things or are the benches staggered, putting each shooter in front of the other ?

These couple of beginners..............

..............are making this 1000 yard stuff look easy  : "BS Benchrest Championship. And this was 12 year old Hunter’s first-ever benchrest match (and the first time he had even shot at 1000 yards)! The young man took the LG group title in spectacular fashion, with some great shooting. ...

Re: Sorting cases

The water volume only varied by 0.4gns in this limited sample, so correlation between case weight and volume is not absolute.
It's a big ask to meaningfully correlate weight/volume difference between brass SG = 8.5 and water SG = 1

Re: School me on concentricity

Macca, “If you only want a sub 1 inch group”........I guess Branxhunter posted the original question as he may apsire to better than that, or to eliminate flyers ? the etc etc in my post covered the other easily achievable steps eg spotlessly clean dies, necks, shell holder....not a grain of dirt to...

Re: School me on concentricity

Interested in everyone's thoughts. With a standard set of "delux" Redding dies I tried mightily hard to increase the percentage of concentric ammo, made sure the die aligned with the ram, used a floating carbon sizing button, floated the decapping rod with an O-ring under the lock nut, tu...

Re: "New" Rifle in the Safe

Welcome aboard antsa,
I'll be putting the .20 calibre on hold for a while. Don't have the heart to redo this one.
With this sentiment and your "no bs" logo you already exhibit too much sense to get mixed up with the 20cal tragics that flourish around here

That took six pages

My two hilux work utes did a trouble free 960,000km between them, also right in front of your eyes on the sun visor was a factory sticker, "lots of wading - reduced service interval - check the diff"....

Re: If you shoot factories...

Pretty much as I thought, the statement: "It can be used to true-up factory ammunition, too." sounded too good to be true (no pun).

Re: If you shoot factories...

I read the guff on the Hornady website about the tool: "Just place ammunition in the tool, roll it, identify runout, and use the dial indicator to adjust runout to zero! It can be used to true-up factory ammunition, too.". If you can use the device to adjust run-out to zero, wouldn't you d...

Re: Neck Sizing vs Full Length

FL size every time but as above back the the die off a (measured) few thou to provide a snickle of resistance on closing the bolt. Also after backing the die off I put a washer on the shell holder to square the die up before tightening the lock ring. I like and agree with the opinion that this metho...

Re: I like this stock style

Not dissimilar to the Cooper varmint stock, their transition slopes forward and the fore end is bit longer.
