Re: Quick test of the Aguila 60gr .22LR subsonic

I have a 1938 vintage Winchester Mod 61, just loves SK Long Range Match. Works pretty well on wallaby with night vision. They are solids, but seem to stay in the target.

Re: 308 Win LRPs v SRPs

Brad, The really scary thing about the situation TZ is talking about. Some rounds didn't go off, just 'click'. After we dug our way back out of our instant slit trench, we pulled one apart. There was a normal looking layer of powder, underneath this was a fused mass, which had obviously got hot enou...

Re: Another stuff up?

Trevor,

If you need it fixed, bring it over. I can pull the barrel and have a look. Who did the chamber, and what reamer did they use?

Re: 300 win mag brass

Stuie,

I have a large quantity of RWS 300WM brass here, but it would not be for donation. If you wanted a price, PM me.

6 PPC Reamer

Guys,

I'm on the hunt for one I can loan to cut a chamber. Can anyone help? Would be even better if you had an empty case to go with it too. More than happy to compensate for postage and wear on the reamer.

Well done Dave, super effort.

I called into Narromine last week and confirmed my room at the aerodrome, all set for August, 2 classes. Hopefully, health permitting, I will be bring the great wildcard, Jacko, with me. Good luck to all, see you soon at the best 1000yd event in Aus.

Re: Hornady ELD

Trev,

Us target people will have a few dummy cases. Each one has a different projectile seated to just touching the lands. Then we can change our loads, but come back to a zero at will. Makes life really easy.

Don't step on any land mines while you are in Saigon land.

Re: 308 Win LRPs v SRPs

Tony,

I have some virgin 300win mag RWS if you need them, also 50 new Saks in same if you want more case volume. Hard to go past the 340 Weatherby mod though, no pressure and heaps of velocity.

Re: 308 Win LRPs v SRPs

Hi Tony, Hard to argue with the 205 load. Seems to me we have a few cartridges that need a '207' weight primer. The SR is not enough, the magnum or LR too much. Either that or change to a powder more accepting of one or other primers. I will be rechambering the 13 twist in the next week, we will see...

Re: Redding Competition Neck Die

The dies won't change the equation, measure a loaded round, or five if they aren't neck turned, then subtract 1 thou for bench rest use, or 2-3 for hunting use. If a loaded round won't chamber, just from neck diameter, then you will need to neck turn. If it is just a standard chamber, not a 'match' ...

Re: super precise die

These dies would be great, IF, and only IF, your brass has uniform wall thickness. In my early days shooting LRBR, I used to FLS every reload. Funny thing stated to happen, the cases started to bend. Why? The difference in the wall thickness of the brass. JR confirmed this as the cause, after he mea...
