Macca,
They best be careful if they are, retaliation could be swift. Just look for the flags 10km east of Narromine, easy as.

Re: My No More Build
Camel, I agree, build it and have some fun. My first BR rifle was a 270, TZ and JR nearly fell off their chairs laughing. Got to the point though that I beat JR in a count back for score 3 times at 1000yds, so that slowed the laughter to just a few giggles. Still got the barrel, 4000 rounds through ...

Re: Copperhead Projectiles to Sponsor Australian 600yd BR Championships
Lone , It's a different world in IBS. We have a few rules, nothing bigger than 40 cal, unless otherwise prohibited by range standing orders, which means in Qld, pretty much anything under but not including .338. The front and rear rests are not to be connected, LG is under 17lb, HG is over 17lb, but...

Big THANK YOU to Ken Melgaard for his sponsorship, and DG for his tireless work promoting our sport. I take my hat off to you both.

Re: ND June 600yd BR
Dave,
I'm going to have to protest the ongoing 600yd shoot in ND, it will make you blokes too hard to beat in the 1000yd SC.
Great to see a good turnout, and some good groups. You better make sure you take 36 sausages next time.

Dave,
If I can get this new software to work, I will down pixel the image I have of my 2 x 2" group target and post, you can show that to them to prove it can be done.

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph
Yes guys, if you miss align the chrony that much, you will get an increase in the length, but if it's just a few degrees, the few degrees window in the sensors will overcome it, giving in effect the drawing Rabbitz did. Considered in the other plane, looking down from above, you could make the dista...

Thanks Guys,
We were a bit lucky, conditions were only moderately shitty. Just wish I could repeat the 0.983 I shot a few years ago. Our old range record is 0.981 for HG. Score was 55, but that was the old days with the 60% target.

Townsville 3-6-17 Results
Guys,
Results posted from yesterday, our first new target shoot. Not too bad a day from my perspective. Some wind issues, and occasional mirage, but not too bad overall, except as Eric commented, "who let the vertical monkey out of his cage"

Townsville Results 3-6-17
Guys, Attached are the 1000yd and 600yd results from yesterday. This was our first shoot on the new target, so all scores are range records, so I at least get to hold two records for a few weeks, till TZ gets his gun tuned. Dave, sorry the results aren't quite in the format you published, but they a...

Re: First comp for years.
Jacko looking cold isn't a surprise, he looks cold where ever he turns up, watch out for him at Narromine this year, all you will be able to see is a beady pair of eyes and a twitching nose sniffing powder smoke, and he will still complain of the cold. Good target Trev, be good to catch up on the we...

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph
Rabbitz drawing has it perfectly. You guys are assuming the sensors only sense in a purely perpendicular line from the axis of the chrony. This isn't so, they have a 'window' of a number of degrees, so it is perfectly possible to shorten the distance between the two sensors, unless you go and input ...

Re: Importance of Aligning a Chronograph
Hi Dave, Interesting thoughts. I think the reason you saw an increase in velocity, when you may have expected a decrease is because the 'sight' window of the sensors is sufficient to read the flight vertically above the sensor anyway, but by canting it forward, you have made the two vertical 'window...

Sounds good to me Dave,
We will be using the new targets from this weekend, so our scores will be valid.

Re: Townsville 29-4 Results
Dave, Once set up it takes about 30min per detail. We shoot the 1000yd in the morning, we start setting up around 7.45, we are normally finished around 11.00. We move the flags, score and group the targets, have a bite to eat, and talk a bit. Then around 1.00 pm we start at 600yd, and finish packing...
