Shot field rifle for the first time last night (first time i have shot a proper comp at any range) using my Brno Md 2 with a 3-9 scope on it and shooting Powerpoints. when shooting standing post and sitting at 50m i struggled to get enough magnification. It seems everyone is magnification mad. I've...

Re: Field rifle rimfire scope options?
yeah $$$$ is the big issue
i know the theory buy once cry once but given i have just started out not sure how much i really want to spent on a scope for a rifle that didnt cost me too much
question is that for field rifle is it worth going the extra $$ on scopes

I drove to Port Arlington and back yesterday, down the ring road and past that windy little river range. 1079 kms, left at 10.30am and got home at 12.20am this morning.

Re: stuck on a scope
what about a Vortex
I have Vortex Viper on my .243 (in 6.5-20x50 which is bit bigger than your looking for) and have no complaints
If Viper range is out of your budget then there is the diamondback range which is well priced

Re: Tools of the trade
A question on the T3 Super Varmint though, How rigid are the original stocks? Does it flex enough that the barrel occasionally touches the stock or is it hard enough to keep it clear? Dr G only had it down the range once and i dont think it had much flex but next time i am out i will watch closely ...
