i have a Vortex Viper 6.5 - 20 x 50 on my .243........i would suggest this is at the upper end of magnification requirements on a .243

given i only paid $370 for my mod 2 i think money is better spent on a higher magnification scope and rounds to practice with

probably around 300 - 320 mark over the 5 times i have shot it (not real good i know)

what is a stock like that worth? biggest issue i see is keeping rifle under weight restrictions

Since starting to shoot rimfire field rifle a few months I have become a little addicted to it.

THought it would be interesting to see what other people used who shot this (given the 4kg weight restriction)

I currently use Brno Md 2 with Tasco 3-9x40 (soon to be 8-32)

Viper, have you done anything to your brno trigger? Most beginners starting in feild rifle that i know have picked up 20-30 points within 2-3 weeks of adjusting their standard trigger weight. How did you go with your scope anyway? still no scope....need to follow up with the Vortex guys about prici...

yeah the weight difference between the two is marginal......i really just dont want to get a 6-24x and find that i wished i had more magnification.

will have a look through a few scopes at the next shoot and see what i think

going to take a look through one of the guys 8-32x at the range next week and see if i think i can shoot rapid on 8x

otherwise the 6-24x it is

looking at vortex crossfire which has parallex setting/adjustable objective of 10 to infintiy so that should be OK. I shot rapid on 9 power now (3-9x) so having an 8-32x should be OK but can see what you mean regarding too much power and getting a scope quickly on target which it looking like i am w...

so 8-32 would be overkill?
